About Me

Meghan Schaberg is an Arctic climate scientist committed to supporting graduate students and postdocs as they work toward their academic and personal goals. Her own journey through graduate school—shaped by both its challenges and its moments of growth—revealed just how isolating and under-supported these environments can be. That realization drives her work today.

Through years of teaching, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and organizing community-building initiatives, Meghan has seen firsthand that students often need more than academic guidance—they need clarity, connection, and someone who understands the pressures of navigating academia. Many advisors, despite their best intentions, are not trained to offer the holistic support students deserve, leaving students to seek out resources that are often difficult to access or simply unaffordable.

Meghan’s goal is to provide accessible, personalized support that meets students where they are, whether they’re working to build sustainable habits, strengthen their writing, or navigate the complex interpersonal and structural dynamics of academic life. She aims to serve as an accountability partner and a source of grounded, empathetic guidance for anyone feeling overwhelmed or unsure of their next steps.

Beyond her professional roles, Meghan is an avid reader, a dedicated participant in a Denver women’s entrepreneur group, an animal lover, and an enthusiastic knitter. She founded The Iceberg Principle to create a space where graduate students can feel seen, supported, and empowered—because no one should have to navigate graduate school alone.

Dr. Aroob Abdelhamid

“Dr Schaberg was crucial in my last year in graduate school. She served as an insightful guide, an encouraging accountabilabuddy, and a validating, empathetic coach. I regularly would give her my concerns and she would walk me through goal setting to make even the biggest mountains into scalable mole-hills. I don’t think my PhD would have ended as well as it did without her help. Thank you Meghan!!”
